A real hotel reservation in your name, with a booking reference and PDF voucher you can submit with your visa application. You don't prepay the stay.

Why consulates ask for a hotel booking

Most visa applications for tourism or short business trips need proof of accommodation: evidence of where you will stay for each night of the trip. For Schengen short-stay visas it is one of the standard supporting documents. Consulates use it to check that your trip is planned, that it matches your itinerary and that you can support yourself during your stay.

The problem: you are asked to show a booking before you know whether you'll get the visa. Prepaying a hotel, or booking a non-refundable rate, puts money at risk if the visa is refused or the appointment is delayed.

What you get

• A real reservation at a hotel in the city you choose, made through our wholesale accommodation partner, in your name.
• A booking reference the hotel can find while the reservation is held.
• A PDF voucher with the hotel's name, address and phone number, your dates, room type and the booking reference.
• No payment to the hotel. We book a free-cancellation rate. The reservation is held for 48 hours. You can extend it once, free, up to 14 days after booking (or shortly before the hotel's free-cancellation deadline, whichever comes first). After that it is cancelled free of charge.

How it works

1. Enter your stay. Destination, dates, number of guests and your name exactly as in your passport.
2. Pick a hotel. We show real hotels with rooms available on your dates and a free-cancellation rate.
3. Pay for the service. $12 for one reservation or $29 a month for Unlimited. You don't pay the hotel.
4. Get the booking reference and voucher. Usually within a minute, on screen and by email, with a PDF you can print or upload.

Tips for a strong application

• Match your itinerary. Hotel dates should cover every night between your arrival and departure flights.
• Use your passport name. Surname and given names as printed in the passport, in Latin letters.
• One booking per city. For multi-city trips, book each city for the nights you'll be there. See multi-city bookings.
• Time it with your appointment. Book shortly before you submit, and extend the hold if your appointment is later.
• Be ready for questions. Consulates can contact the hotel. Our reservations are real, which is why they can be found while held.
